What part should subsidies play, if any, in the effort to reach sustainable fishing?

What will be an ideal response?

Subsidies can be important in sustaining certain industries, but subsidies can also give an unfair advantage to one group over another. Because the subsidies are given to an industry involved in the process of degrading a natural resource, it may be inappropriate to continue those subsidies. It may be more appropriate for those who rely on the subsidies to be provided with alternative ways of making a living, or for the subsidies to be used to find alternative ways of making a living from the oceans.
