Give three reasons a consistent supply of pure water is so critical to plants

What will be an ideal response?

A consistent supply of pure water is absolutely necessary for growth of plants for several reasons:1.
Nutrients in the soil must first be dissolved in water before they can be absorbed through the plant
roots.
2. Within the plant, water carries the nutrients to the leaves. These nutrients chemically combine with
water in the process of photosynthesis.
3. Sugars and other plant foods manufactured in the leaves are then transported throughout the plant by
water.
4. Water helps control the temperatures in and around plants through transpiration.
5. Water gives the plant support by maintaining rigidity in the cells.
