How does modeling theory explain the occurrence of crime?
What will be an ideal response?
Modeling theory suggests that aggressive behavior may be learned through observation, including observation via media (e.g., television, movies, video games). Once acquired, aggressive patterns of behavior must be activated. Aggression can be provoked through physical assaults, verbal threats and insults, or by thwarting a person's hopes or obstructing his/her goal-seeking behavior. Other potential triggers of aggression include deprivation and adverse reductions in the conditions of life. Aggression may also be triggered by the potential for rewards, including the reduction of aversive treatment.
