Discuss the three steps investigators take when investigating a fire and then if the fire is determined to be suspicious how are the fires classified

What will be an ideal response?

The first step for the investigator is to seek evidence to prove whether or not the fire was of natural or accidental. The second step is to seek evidence to eliminate all possible causes except incendiarism. Third, the investigator is to seek evidence that will prove that the fire was of incendiary origin. Fires can then be classified as a rationally or irrationally motivated fire. Rational motivation is based on hate, profit, or desire to conceal a crime. Irrational motivated fires are usually arsonists.
