What three additional forms of interpersonal violence does this chapter discuss?
What will be an ideal response?
This chapter discusses three additional forms of interpersonal violence: workplace violence, hate crimes, and stalking.
Workplace violence includes violent crimes (specifically murder, rape, robbery, and assault) committed against persons who are at work or on duty. It is a significant problem in the U.S. today and much more common than generally believed.
Hate crimes are motivated by hatred, bias, or prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation of another individual or group of individuals. It is also known as bias crime. While hate groups have long been associated with acts of violence, the majority of reported hate crimes are not committed by organized hate groups and their members but by teenagers.
Stalking involves a course of conduct directed at a specific person that involves repeated visual or physical proximity, nonconsensual communications, and/or threats that would cause a reasonable person fear.
