What is the significance of the pyramids (MyArtsLab)?

What will be an ideal response?

The pyramids are significant for their mathematical precision. The pyramid of Khurfu is orientated to the four points of the compass. They are significant as evidence of the importance of the afterlife and the immortal element of each individual ka which survives the death of the body. They are monuments to the greatness of the pharaohs. With their position on the Western side of the Nile they remind individuals of the cycle of life and death and the reality of the afterlife. They also symbolize the rays of the sun god Re, illuminating and brining life to the earth and ensuring the immortality of the pharaohs in a tangible form.
