What is curriculum compacting?

What will be an ideal response?

In curriculum compacting teachers identify the content that a student has already mastered and provide instruction only on the content that the student has not yet mastered. Students may do the most difficult problems or tasks of an activity first, and if they get those correct, there is no need to do earlier tasks. Instead, they move on to new tasks.
