Discuss the factors that contribute to the higher stroke volume in endurance-exercise trained individuals

Stroke volume is greater in endurance-trained individuals due to less pericardial restraint of the heart and remodeling of the pericardium—cardiac remodeling leading to an increase in ventricular mass and eventually an increase in ventricular diameter, possible increases in cardiac contractility, vascular remodeling and growth, and blood volume expansion.
