What will be an ideal response?
Students' answers may vary.
The answer should include the following elements:
Self-actualization is a state of self-fulfillment in which an individual has reached his or her highest potential. The humanistic theorists believed that we have an innate, fundamental drive toward self-actualization. Unconditional positive regard is an attitude of acceptance and respect toward another individual, no matter what the individual says or does. This acceptance ensures that the individual's experiences are not at variance with his or her self-concept and provides an atmosphere in which the individual can grow and evolve without shame or anxiety.
