Summarize collective and selective incapacitation.

What will be an ideal response?

Selective incapacitation focuses on the offenderas well as the crime. Whereas collective incapacitation means incarcerating those whose crimes are deemed dangerous, selective incapacitation involves incarcerating primarily "those who, when free, commit the most crimes" (Wilson, 1992, p. 152). It involves predicting that an individual offender, or offenders with certain characteristics, will commit additional crimes if not locked up.
