Explain the differences between The Cornell Method and Mind Mapping. Include what type of learner might benefit from each method.

What will be an ideal response?

The Cornell Method is the preferred method for sequential learners, while mind mapping is preferred by random learners. The Cornell Method uses summary paper, which is lined and has a 3" margin on the left side. Mind Mapping requires plain white paper with no lines or margins. When taking notes using The Cornell Method, you place the most important or main ideas in the left margin, also called the recall column, and the details on the right side, also called the body of the notes. In Mind Mapping, you place the main idea in the middle of the page and write the details on lines extending from the main idea in no special order. When you study using the Cornell Method, you cover up the body or right side of the notes and test yourself using the information written on the left. When you study using a Mind Map, you might color the ideas making them into a picture to visually show the flow of ideas.
