Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain your answer

Minus-enddirected microtubule motors (like dyneins) deliver their cargo to the periphery of the cell, whereas plus-enddirected microtubule motors (like kinesins) deliver their cargo to the interior of the cell.

Disagree. The plus ends of microtubules usually point toward the cell periphery, whereas the minus ends point toward the cell center. This is because the ?-tubulin in the centrosome serves to nucleate microtubule growth. Because the centrosomes are near the center of the cell, the minus ends of microtubules are located there. Therefore, a minus-enddirected microtubule motor would direct its cargo toward the center of the cell, and a plus-enddirected microtubule motor would direct its cargo toward the cell periphery.

For a lady bug population at the end of summer, the food supply decreases to where only 2,000 lady bugs can be supported per acre. If there are 1,000 lady bugs in a one-acre field, the per capita rate of increase is 25%, and no immigration or emigration occur, how many individuals will be added in the next generation? Interpret whether G = rN(K – N)/K or G = rN is appropriate.

A. 1,000 B. 250 C. 1,250 D. 125 E. 0

Anolis lizards can be informally subdivided into long-legged forms (which move by jumping from tree to tree) and short-legged forms (which mostly crawl from one area to another). Both forms are usually found in any population

A group of Anolis lizards with long legs are transplanted from an island with many large trees to an island with many small plants and no trees. In future generations, the transplanted lizard population is most likely to A) evolve shorter legs adapted for the smaller plants. B) undergo no evolutionary change. C) evolve to be able to maneuver less efficiently. D) evolve to be able to run away from predators more quickly. E) evolve even longer legs.
