Outline the stages of typical language acquisition for a newborn infant until around two years of age

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER:
?Around two months of age, infants begin cooing, a process of making vowel sounds. In approximately another two months, babies start to add consonants to those vowel sounds, a stage known as babbling. By around seven months, infants are babbling in sounds which are like the sounds they have been hearing. Around one year of age, infants have added the sounds and intonations of their native language to their babbling. Over the next year, children begin to learn to communicate with gestures and morphemes, the smallest units of meaningful speak. In approximately 20-26 months, words are combined into two-word sentences called telegraphic speech.
