Provide an example of what a cultural pluralistic society would look like today?
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: A cultural pluralistic society would include the recognition and celebration of cultural differences for racial minorities. As of now, most racial minorities cultural holidays are not included or counted in the national calendar. For a pluralistic society, this would need to change so that all races, cultures, and religions are included with the dominant White American holidays. Not only would these be celebrated, but the people celebrating them would receive respective time off on those holidays. Cultural traditions such as food, language, and music would be respected and held as important to all people, not just racial minorities. Assimilation would not be an aspect of cultural pluralism because no group would be forced or expected to take on aspects of the dominant culture. The dominant culture would be a combination and recognition of all the races, ethnicity, and cultures; which would be deemed important to the communities in which they derive from and other racial groups.
