How accurate is the view that Americans could not have won the Revolutionary War without foreign assistance?
What will be an ideal response?
ANSWER: Americans received support from a number of sources, but the most obvious was from the French. French naval strength made the difference in the Battle of Yorktown. It is quite possible that Americans could have won the war, but without the decisive victory at Yorktown, the peace they negotiated might have looked very different.
