What will be an ideal response?

A clinician should always have on hand any forms or information in the client’s preferred language, as some clients will not be able to read or write in English but may be embarrassed to disclose that information. Paperwork before the first meeting or even at the beginning of the first meeting may be seen as impersonal, or intimidating to many cultures, thus clinicians should limit themselves at the beginning to only absolutely critical paperwork. The clinician should gather information about the client’s cultural background from the referral source before the meeting whenever possible. This will help guard against misunderstandings throughout the process.
