What are questions of fact, and how are they used in persuasive speeches? Describe how you would develop the main points, organize the information, and lend support while working on a persuasive speech based on questions of fact

What will be an ideal response?

Questions of fact concern what is or is not true, what does or does not exist, what did or did not happen. In informative speeches they are often easily answered, but in persuasive speeches questions of fact are different – they do have answers, but they are not easy to find and may never be found. They concern controversial issues, and different people will have different answers to them. The speech is developed with these steps: 1) Begin by writing a thesis. 2) Generate the main points by asking simple questions of the thesis. The answers develop into the main points. 3) Clearly connect the main points to the thesis during the introduction, when introducing each point, and again in the summary. 4) Search for support for each main point, emphasizing logical proof and using the most recent materials available. 5) Understand that facts are the best support. The more, the better. 6) Consider topical organizational patterns, which work best because each reason for the thesis is given equal weight.
