Describe the dynamic relationship between nature and nurture in the manifestation of giftedness
What will be an ideal response?
ANSWER: Early scientists moderated their views to include a perspective that both heredity and
environment contributed to a person’s intellectual ability. Genetic influences may impact
measures of environment. Gifted people profit more fully from environmental influences
over their lifetime. Many innate or naturally occurring gifts and talents are overlooked or
overvalued. Without pronounced or persistent practice giftedness in its various forms
may not be achieved and will remain dormant and unexpressed.
