making.
• Collaborating with families is one of the primary responsibilities of special
educators.
• It helps students to reach their highest potential.
• Research suggests that parent-professional partnership benefits students’
academic and social progress.
• The severity of the disability can affect the child’s ability to communicate,
which in turn necessitates collaboration between parents and teachers in
children’s educational planning and implementation.
• Parents are often well educated about ASD and their child, and they are
therefore able to serve as a great resource to schools.
