Explain the difference between associative and non-associative types of learning and give an example of each.

Associative learning has two major types, classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Non-associative learning also has two well-known types, habituation and sensitization. Habituation is a decrease in response to a benign stimulus, sensitization is an enhanced response to stimuli following a strong stimulus.
