Identify and discuss the reasons for resistance to change.

What will be an ideal response?

Several reasons for resistance arise regardless of the actual content of the change. These include inertia (an unwillingness to disturb the status quo), timing, surprise, peer pressure, self-interest, misunderstanding, different assessments (employees receive different-and usually less-information than management receives), and management tactics (attempting to force the change without addressing people's concerns).
