Ans: Answers to this question will vary but should include elements of the following: the six critical thinking domains—remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. A definition needs to be included for each domain, actual verbs or action words that represent each domain, and sample activities for each domain. Example response: Understanding is the second level of critical thinking domains. Understanding is constructing meaning from messages by summarizing, comparing, and explaining. Some verbs or actions words that are used when focusing on an understanding level of critical thinking are compare, demonstrate, fill in, predict, represent and outline. Activities that utilize understanding are using a set of symbols to represent the cycle of a pumpkin. Assessments for understanding can be in the form of tables, drawing, consequences, and comparisons. This type of response should be completed for each of the six domains of critical thinking.
