What is EroRom?
What will be an ideal response?
EroRom, short for erotic romance, is a genre of fiction in which sex takes a primary role and which mostly targets female audiences. However, unlike pornography, in which the plot centers on sex, in EroRom, sex is a part of the plot. These stories are formulaic and predictable, with dominant but gentle males and irresistible and adorable heroines. One of the usual cues in these stories is novelty, as they focus on new relationships. The Internet has influenced this primarily existing genre with the development of fan fiction—erotic romance written by amateurs. Websites with fan fiction have millions of stories and a great number of visitors, and they usually, besides story reading, offer
opportunities for social interaction. One of newer trends in EroRom is an increase in the number of male–male stories, especially those depicting characters from pop culture.
