(a) Answers will vary but should convey most of the information found in Figure 3.4.
(b) The continuum of services model requires that the IEP team consider the learner's characteristics as they interact with the general education curriculum and then choose a placement based on a determination of the setting that will allow the learner to make progress with the least restriction from normalized settings. It also requires that the team only go as far down the continuum as necessary and that the IEP contain goals and services be designed to help the learner become able to function in a less restrictive setting in the future. The team must also discuss whether the services generally available in a more restrictive level can in fact be provided in a less restrictive setting as well. If that is true, then the services should be brought to the learner in that less restrictive setting
