Explain some ways in which the LMX dilemma can be prevented or resolved.
What will be an ideal response?
To help prevent out-group relationships from forming, a leader should employ leading with love philosophy. Leaders should also be aware of how their behaviors can push followers into out-group membership, for example, repeatedly not choosing a follower for assignments or not including the member in activities. Many leaders are not aware of the LMX concepts, so organizations should work to train and teach leaders. In addition, organizations should pay attention to staffing processes and work to implement processes that ensure the right fit between team members, the leader, and each other.
