A unit plan includes a title which identifies the name for the unit, a purpose statement which is a synopsis of why the unit is important, learning outcomes that specify brief statements of objectives for the unit, content which is the actual material to be taught in the unit, the methods to be used in teaching—planned as carefully as possible, materials the teacher needs for the lesson, assessment which should be a continuing process throughout the unit, and the teaching sequence which should be outlined for the period of time involved.
