What will be an ideal response?

Validation is a means to confirm that a forensics tool is operating as intended. This can involve the use of forensics example images containing known samples of data that should be found by forensics software. Verification on the other hand, proves that two sets of data are identical by use of hash values or similar methods. Hashes such as MD5 and SHA can be used for verification.
