Discuss the biological and environmental influences of language.

What will be an ideal response?

Noam Chomsky (1957) argued that humans are prewired to learn language at a certain time and in a certain way. The strongest evidence to support this is that children from all over the world acquire language milestones at about the same age and in the same approximate order. However, children do not learn language in a vacuum, thus there is enough variation in the development of language to justify the claim that caregivers and the environment play important roles in the acquisition of language.
