Ans: In a descriptive design, the phenomenon being studied is studied as it currently is, with no attempt to manipulate any conditions or situations. In a correlational design, the researcher aims to determine whether a relationship between or among variables exists and to what degree it exists, if one does. Whereas descriptive designs aim mainly to describe the phenomena being studied, correlational studies focus more on how variables interact with one another and whether or not they are related to one another.
