Explain what a Computer-Aided Manufacturing system is.

What will be an ideal response?

CADD has added capability to perform complex mathematical processes, generate engineering data, and process commands to control tooling, manufacturing, architectural planning, electronic circuitry, and other automated production. For such applications, a CADD system is often interfaced with a Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system. The CAM system can be programmed to identify and control such manufacturing processes as drilling, boring, turning, milling, and grinding. It also provides for part inspection, testing, and assembly.
