Explain how social ease is important to being a competent communicator.

What will be an ideal response?

Communication competence is the impression that communicative behavior is both appropriate and effective in a given situation. Social ease means managing communication apprehension so we do not appear nervous or anxious. It influences whether others perceive us to be competent communicators. To be perceived as a competent communicator, we must speak in ways that convey confidence and poise. Communicators that appear apprehensive are not likely to be regarded as competent, despite their motivation or knowledge.
