Explain how geography is a daily experience
What will be an ideal response?
Geography includes everything they do on a daily basis such as: going to school, visiting the grocery store, visits to their friends and relatives' homes (movement, distance). Through play children experience and use geographic skills and concepts. For example as they dig in the sand box and pour water in containers they are interacting with the physical world. They are able to feel the materials their surroundings are made of. Provide opportunities for children to actively explore their physical world through exploring the physical characteristics of objects (Neuman, et al., 2007).
