What will be an ideal response?
The effective lecture starts with the audience. Teachers should know their audience, their background knowledge, and interest in the topic. Next, the focus portion is what gets the audience on the topic mentally and provides a point of reference. The organization provides the flow of the lecture—smooth from topic to topic. Clarity is the extent to which the material is presented in an understandable manner to the audience. Finally, pacing is the speed of material being covered—not too fast so as to lose people or too slow so as to cause them to lose interest.
