Los tianguis son mercados que puedes encontrar en ciudades mexicanas. La palabra "tianguis" proviene de la lengua náhuatl, la lengua de los aztecas, y significa "mercado al aire libre". Estos mercados existen desde la época prehispánica y se mantienen hasta hoy casi (almost) inalterables. Como su nombre lo indica, estos mercados no funcionan dentro de edificios, sino (but) están al aire libre. En un tianguis puedes comprar frutas, vegetales, leche, huevos, entre otras cosas. También puedes comer allí, ya que venden comida preparada y esta normalmente tiene precios muy económicos. En algunos tianguis puede también encontrar ropa y aparatos electrónicos. Muchos mexicanos prefieren hacer compras en los tianguis que en los supermercados.
