Describe the controversy involved in the issue of school choice. Include and explain both sides of the argument

What will be an ideal response?

Opponents of school choice argue that choice is likely to result in the polarization of enrollments and will further damage already weak inner city schools. Proponents argue that schools are already polarized and cite statistics such as over half of all high school seniors are in classes composed of either more than 90% or less than 10% minorities. For example, opponents argue that when choice is allowed, better schools choose motivated students from affluent families, leaving less popular schools with lower-achieving, poorly motivated students.
