Discuss the effects of prolactin and oxytocin on a female during pregnancy

Prolactin secreted from the anterior pituitary stimulates milk production by the mammary glands. Oxytocin from the fetal and maternal hypothalamus is secreted during the second and third trimesters and peaks during labor to stimulate uterine contractions and allow milk release from the mammary glands.
