The clear liquid diet consists of clear fluids and foods that are liquid at room temperature
and leave little undigested material (called residue) in the colon. A liquid diet that includes milk and other opaque liquids (such as fruit nectars, yogurt, and oral supplements) is called a full liquid diet.
