What physical condition does this picture depict, and why is it a significant finding in a

patient with a BSF?

What will be an ideal response?

The term raccoon eyes is frequently used when describing someone who has a BSF. Raccoon eyes
are indicative of an anterior fossa fracture (fracture of the paranasal sinuses) allowing blood to
leak out and pool around the eyes, darkening the area and creating an appearance similar to a
raccoon's eyes.
