What are the Millennium Development Goals?


The Millennium Development Goals were set at the Millennium Summit of the United Nations for achievement by 2015 . The Goals set targets for progress in eight areas: poverty and hunger, primary education, women's equality, child mortality, maternal health, disease, environment, and a global partnership for development.
