What will be an ideal response?

Hospice, which is not necessarily a "place" but a philosophy, is a manner of caring for the terminally ill. An example of a key feature of hospice is that palliative care is primary and pain management is one of the main goals. Other characteristics include on focus on quality of life, service available 24 hours a day/7 days a week if needed, support for the family, psychological, social, and spiritual counseling, collaboration among providers, a multidisciplinary team, use of volunteers, inpatient care, and bereavement counseling. The first hospice, St. Christopher's Hospice, started in Great Britain in 1967.
