Describe procedural, interpersonal, and informational justice. How do they relate to motivation?
What will be an ideal response?
Procedural justice refers to an employee's perception of the fairness of procedures used to determine distribution of outcomes. Interpersonal justice refers to an employee's perception of the fairness of the interpersonal treatment received from the person who distributes outcomes to him or her. Informational justice refers to an employee's perception of the extent to which a manager provides explanations for the procedures and decisions used to arrive at the distribution of outcomes. For an organization to achieve high motivation, each of these concepts of justice must be managed so that employees have a strong sense that the procedures, information, and interpersonal treatment related to the distribution of outcomes is fair and performance-based.
