·      Avoid using harsh detergent when washing polycarbonate plastic containers in the dishwasher.

·      Opt for glass porcelain containers, or stainless steel for hot foods or liquids.

·      Reduce the number of canned foods and opt for products in cardboard cartons.

·      Properly discard old, scratched, or deformed plastic containers.
