Explain how one becomes a culturally responsive teacher and advocate

What will be an ideal response?

First, one must become more self-aware culturally by examining one's own cultural values and becoming aware of one's own stereotypes, biases, and prejudices. Awareness may lead to improved attitudes and practices. Second, it is useful to learn more about and have more experiences with other cultures by having conversations with students and their families, following international and national news stories, reading books, etc. This will affect one's understanding of how cultural values influence instructional and behavior management practices. Third, a culturally responsive teacher implements culturally responsive instruction by adopting a posture of cultural reciprocity (simply put, partnering with those whose culture is different to understand their priorities) and implementing action steps
