Explain how drug courts differ from regular courts

What will be an ideal response?

While regular courts use sentencing procedures, drug courts use diversion tactics. Drug courts divert drug-abusing and other offenders into treatment instead of incarceration. They hope to reduce crime by changing the person's behavior and by treating the underlying conditions that cause that behavior. They are generally more cost effective and more effective at putting a stop to criminal behavior than regular courts, which seem to act more as a revolving door for criminals.
