Define sensemaking.
What will be an ideal response?
Sensemaking answers these questions: “How does something become an event? What
does the event mean? What should I do relative to the event?” The crisis leader then puts
the answers to these queries together to develop a plan of action. Making sense of what
appear to be unrelated events is also critical to identifying and responding to such warning
signs as accident reports, quality problems, and customer complaints.
