People can live quite a while without food. Why can’t people live just as long without water?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Depending on the amount of fat and protein in the body, a person can live for several weeks without consuming food. However, water is a different story. A person can only live for 3 to 4 days without water because the body does not store it nor does it produce much of it. In addition, water is continually lost via perspiration, urine, and feces. Water is necessary to keep your metabolism working properly, and without it, blood pressure can fall to dangerously low levels, blood clots may form, and the kidneys cannot function adequately.
