Why does the power control become one of the main issues for the efficient operation of CDMA?

What will be an ideal response?

The power control is critical for efficient operation of CDMA. Because, the
sender’s transmission power level determines the signal quality at the receiver.
There is a need to conserve the limited battery power of the MS for quality signal
and also handoff will be smooth with high quality signal. Also, since interference
is converted to noise, a strong interference implies a strong noise and degrades the
channel for all other users. Therefore, CDMA must use very tight power control
for efficient operation

An initially evacuated tank is to be filled with N2 gas from a supply line. The N2 gas in the supply line is at 20oC and 800 kPa. The volume of the tank is 0.5 m3, and the tank is to be filled until the pressure in the tank is 750 kPa. Determine the amount of N2 that flows into the tank, and the final temperature of the N2 in the tank, assuming that the tank is insulated.

State i: Inlet (Supply Line); State 1: Initial State; State 2: Final State Given: N2; Ti = 20oC; Pi = 800 kPa; V = 0.5 m3; P2 = 750 kPa; Assume: P1 = 0; m1 = 0 (initially evacuated); Q = 0 (insulated). Also, as no information is given and these terms are unlikely to be significant, W = 0, and kinetic and potential energy can be neglected. No flow out of the tank. N2 is an ideal gas with variable specific heats.

A 5-year plan to raise extra funds for public schools involves an “enrichment tax” that will raise $56 for every student the first year, increasing by $1 per student per year thereafter. There are 50,000 students in the district in year one, 51,000 in year 2, with increases of 1000 students per year thereafter. Calculate the future worth in year 5 of the enrichment plan over a 5-year planning period at an interest rate of 8% per year. Solve this problem using (a) tabulated factors, and (b) a spreadsheet.
