Explain the importance of fuel cell thermal management.
What will be an ideal response?
Managing heat is as important as any other aspect of a fuel cell and, in fact, can be one of the main reasons for adopting the technology. As with most engines, fuel cells must operate within relatively narrow ranges and the operating temperature is one of those ranges. Unlike most engines though, fuel cells can be as efficient at lower temperatures as they are at higher temperatures. Managing the heat needed or produced in fuel cells is probably the one thing that produces the most return on investment in fuel cell systems.
