Distinguish between a survey and experimental design in quantitative research.
What will be an ideal response?
A survey design provides a description of a population by studying a sample of the population. An experimental design manipulates one or more variables to evaluate the effects of the manipulation. In an experimental design, a research can isolate whether the treatment actually influences the outcome. Both designs allow researchers to help make inferences about the relationships between variables and make assumptions about how the results are generalizable to a broader population.
