Norm-referenced achievement tests fall into several categories: achievement batteries; diagnostic tests; and subject area achievement tests. Describe and give an example of each

What will be an ideal response?

Achievement batteries are used to measure individual or group achievement in a variety of school subjects. These survey batteries include several small tests, each in a different subject area, and are usually administered to a group over a period of several days. Diagnostic tests differ from achievement batteries in that they generally focus on a specific content area and emphasize the skills that are thought to be important for mastery of the subject matter. Subject area achievement tests are made up by teachers to assess skills in specific subjects.
